First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 08, 2026 · Updated 33 times
Summary
This study looks at whether liraglutide (Saxenda®), a weight-loss medication, can increase a protein called BDNF that helps protect the brain. It involves 30 adults with multiple sclerosis, long-COVID, or leukemia in remission who also have obesity and memory or thinking issues. The goal is to measure changes in BDNF levels over 21 weeks, not to treat the diseases directly.
