Eye surgeons test better patch materials to make glaucoma surgery last longer

NCT ID NCT07285616

Summary

This study aims to find the best patch material to cover a tiny drainage tube implanted during glaucoma surgery. Researchers will compare three different donor tissues (sclera, cornea, and pericardium) in 180 patients to see which one leads to fewer complications, better pressure control, and higher patient satisfaction. The goal is to help surgeons choose materials that make the surgery more successful and durable for people whose glaucoma isn't controlled by eye drops alone.
