Can a 10-Minute checkup improve care for older lung cancer patients?

NCT ID NCT06987890

First seen Mar 16, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a short, 10-15 minute health assessment called the Practical Geriatric Assessment (PGA) helps older adults with lung cancer get better support during their radiation treatment. The assessment checks things like physical function, nutrition, and mental well-being. Researchers want to see if using the PGA leads to more referrals for services like nutrition counseling or physical therapy, and whether patients find it easy to use. The study involves 64 adults aged 65 and older with early-stage non-small cell lung cancer who are scheduled for a type of radiation called stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT).
