Summary
This study looked at whether a special type of genetic counseling, which uses charts and graphs, helps newly diagnosed breast cancer patients make more informed decisions about surgery. About 400 patients took part. The goal was to see if this method changes how patients understand their risk of cancer in the other breast and their choice to have both breasts removed.
