Gene-Protected chemo takes aim at deadly brain tumors

NCT ID NCT05052957

First seen Nov 21, 2025 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tests a new approach for people with a fast-growing brain cancer called glioblastoma. Researchers take a patient's own blood stem cells, add a protective gene, and return them so the bone marrow can survive higher doses of chemotherapy. The goal is to kill more cancer cells while reducing side effects. About 16 adults who recently had most of their tumor removed will take part.
