First seen Apr 08, 2026 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study looked at whether garlic supplements can improve blood vessel function and reduce inflammation in adults with kidney failure who are on hemodialysis. Fifty-eight patients took garlic extract or a placebo for a period of time. Researchers measured markers of inflammation and blood vessel health to see if garlic could lower the risk of heart problems, a common complication in dialysis patients.
