Quick Pre-Surgery tests may spot frail seniors at risk
NCT ID NCT06988176
First seen Jan 30, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study looks at whether easy-to-do tests for muscle strength and frailty can help predict complications after major abdominal surgery in people aged 65 and older. About 100 participants will complete brief assessments during a routine pre-surgery visit, and researchers will check their recovery at 30 and 90 days. The goal is to see if these simple measures can be added to standard care to better identify those who need extra support.
