Which ultrasound test best guides fluid resuscitation in septic shock?

NCT ID NCT07550400

First seen May 08, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study compares two ultrasound techniques—heart ultrasound and carotid artery ultrasound—to see which better predicts whether a septic shock patient will benefit from additional fluids. About 40 adults with septic shock will be enrolled. The goal is to improve how doctors decide on fluid therapy, potentially reducing complications from too much or too little fluid.
