First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study tested whether offering financial rewards helps homeless smokers quit. 184 adults who were currently or formerly homeless received smoking coaching, a prescription for a quit-smoking drug, and some also got cash rewards for staying smoke-free. Researchers checked if they had stopped smoking after 12 and 24 weeks.
