ICU pain drug showdown: which one helps patients wake up faster?

NCT ID NCT07224620

Summary

This study aims to find out if one of two commonly used pain and sedation medicines (fentanyl or hydromorphone) is better for adults in the intensive care unit (ICU) who are on a breathing machine. Researchers will compare how much total pain medicine patients need, how long they stay on the breathing machine, and their overall recovery. The goal is to help doctors choose the best medicine to keep patients comfortable while helping them recover faster.
