NCT ID NCT07643792

First seen Jun 13, 2026 · Last updated Jun 17, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests whether a special numbing medicine (liposomal bupivacaine) injected near the hip before surgery can control pain for up to 72 hours after hip fracture surgery in people aged 55 and older. The goal is to reduce pain, lower the need for strong painkillers like opioids, and improve recovery. About 148 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the long-lasting numbing medicine plus standard care, or standard care alone.
