Researchers explore how families talk about disease risk

NCT ID NCT00469339

Summary

This study aimed to understand how Mexican American families communicate about their risk for common diseases like diabetes, heart disease, breast cancer, and colon cancer. Researchers worked with 498 adults from multigenerational households to see what approaches best encourage family discussions about health risks. The information gathered will help design better ways for families to share health information and support healthy behaviors together.
