Researchers probe family secrets to healthier living in mexican american communities
NCT ID NCT00469339
Summary
This study aimed to understand how Mexican American families talk about their risk for common diseases like diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. Researchers worked with 498 adults from multigenerational households to see if sharing personalized risk information with the whole family, rather than just one person, encouraged better health discussions and planning. The goal was to use this information to design more effective ways for families to communicate about health risks and prevention strategies together.
