First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study tested whether a simple exercise program before head and neck cancer surgery could help patients get back on their feet faster. 52 adults scheduled for major surgery did daily walking, sit-to-stand, and other exercises for a few weeks before their operation. The goal was to see if this "prehabilitation" improved mobility after surgery, measured by step counts on a Fitbit.
