Summary
This study tested whether exenatide, a drug used for diabetes, can help people quit smoking and prevent the weight gain that often happens after quitting. 140 smokers who wanted to quit used a nicotine patch and either exenatide or a placebo. The goal was to see if exenatide improved quit rates and reduced weight gain over 12 weeks.
