First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study looked at why the drug erythropoietin (EPO), used to treat anemia in people with chronic kidney disease, can raise blood pressure. Researchers planned to compare blood pressure changes in patients who started EPO right away versus those who waited 12 weeks. The study was stopped early and only enrolled 27 out of 160 planned participants.
