NCT ID NCT05825001

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tests a technique called episodic future thinking (EFT) to help smokers cut down. Participants imagine positive events they look forward to in the next year, while a control group recalls happy past events. The goal is to see if focusing on the future reduces cigarette cravings and smoking. The study involves 104 adult smokers who want to quit within 30 days.
