NCT ID NCT05825001
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study tests a technique called episodic future thinking (EFT) to help smokers reduce cigarette use. Participants imagine positive events they look forward to in the next year, while a control group recalls positive past events. The goal is to see if focusing on the future lowers smoking, measured by breath carbon monoxide levels. The study involves 104 adult smokers who want to quit within 30 days.
