Scientists probe sleep breathing link to sudden death in epilepsy
NCT ID NCT06545214
Summary
This study aims to understand how the brain systems controlling breathing and sleep-wake states interact in people with drug-resistant epilepsy. Researchers will compare 60 participants (patients and healthy volunteers) by measuring their breathing responses during sleep in a hospital setting. The goal is to gather knowledge about potential mechanisms behind serious complications, including Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP).
