Melanoma drug combo trial halted after just 3 patients
NCT ID NCT04221438
First seen Nov 12, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This study tested two drugs, encorafenib and binimetinib, given before surgery to people with a certain type of advanced melanoma (stage IIIB-D) that had spread to lymph nodes. The goal was to see if the drugs could shrink or eliminate the cancer before removal. The trial was stopped early after enrolling only 3 participants, so no firm conclusions can be drawn.
