Gentler chemo before cell therapy shows promise for tough melanoma
NCT ID NCT06151847
First seen May 01, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study tested a lower dose of chemotherapy before giving patients their own tumor-fighting immune cells (lifileucel) for advanced melanoma that cannot be removed or has spread. Eleven adults with stage IV melanoma received the treatment to see if it is safe and how well the infused cells survive in the body. The goal is to control the disease while reducing side effects from standard high-dose chemo.
