Massive claims study aims to validate heart failure drug findings
NCT ID NCT07599345
First seen May 20, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026
Summary
This study uses healthcare claims data from over 23,000 people with heart failure and type 2 diabetes to see if the drug empagliflozin works as well in everyday practice as it did in a major clinical trial. Researchers compare empagliflozin to another diabetes drug, sitagliptin, looking at deaths and hospitalizations. The goal is to learn how to use real-world data confidently for future medical decisions.
