Summary

This study tests whether empagliflozin, a drug used for diabetes, can help people with HIV who are overweight or obese lose weight and improve their metabolism. About 66 adults with HIV on a specific type of antiretroviral therapy will take either the drug or a placebo for 6 months. The main goal is to see if the drug leads to weight loss and better cholesterol and blood sugar levels.
