Can a computer alert stop a stroke? new trial aims to close a deadly treatment gap

NCT ID NCT06355986

Summary

This study tests if a computer alert system can help doctors in community clinics prescribe blood-thinning medication to prevent strokes in high-risk patients with atrial fibrillation (AF). It will involve about 2,500 patients who are not currently on these medications. The goal is to see if the alerts safely increase prescriptions and reduce strokes and other heart problems.
