Tapping away cravings: new hope for stubborn smokers?

NCT ID NCT00981396

First seen Apr 29, 2026 · Last updated Jun 17, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study tests Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), a type of tapping therapy, for smokers who have failed standard quit programs. Researchers want to see if EFT can reduce cravings and anxiety enough to help these 40 participants finally quit. The study is in very early stages and focuses on symptom relief rather than a cure.
