First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a heart ultrasound (echocardiography) can help doctors better manage cirrhosis patients who also develop sudden kidney injury. The goal was to see if heart function measurements could predict which patients would not tolerate fluid replacement therapy, a common treatment. 28 adults with cirrhosis and acute kidney injury were enrolled. The findings aim to improve diagnosis and avoid complications like fluid buildup in the lungs.
