Heart patch outshines holter in stroke patients?
NCT ID NCT05082467
First seen Apr 26, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study tests whether a waterproof, wireless heart monitor worn for 7 days can find more cases of atrial fibrillation (an irregular heartbeat) in people who recently had a stroke or mini-stroke than the usual 24-hour Holter monitor. About 320 adults with no known cause for their stroke will wear both monitors. The goal is to see if the longer monitoring period catches more hidden heart rhythm problems, which could help prevent future strokes.
