New heart patch could catch hidden stroke triggers better than old holter
NCT ID NCT05082467
First seen Apr 26, 2026 ยท Last updated Apr 26, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether a water-resistant, wireless ECG patch worn for 7 days can find more cases of hidden atrial fibrillation (an irregular heartbeat that raises stroke risk) than the usual 24-hour Holter monitor. About 320 adults who recently had a stroke or mini-stroke of unknown cause will wear both devices. The goal is to see which method catches more heart rhythm problems, helping doctors decide on treatments to prevent future strokes.
