E-Cigs vs. patches: new study targets smoking in opioid patients

Summary

This study compares e-cigarettes to standard nicotine replacement therapy (like patches) combined with counseling, to see which helps smokers with opioid use disorder cut down or quit regular cigarettes. About 300 adults in methadone or buprenorphine treatment programs will take part. The goal is to find better ways to reduce smoking-related harm in this high-risk group.
