Immunotherapy shows promise as First-Line attack on tough lung cancer
NCT ID NCT03003962
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study compares a drug called durvalumab (an immunotherapy that helps the immune system fight cancer) to standard chemotherapy as the first treatment for people with advanced non-small cell lung cancer that has high levels of a protein called PD-L1. About 669 adults with stage IV lung cancer, no specific gene mutations, and good physical health took part. The main goal was to see if durvalumab helps people live longer than chemotherapy.
