Heart stent study tests if ultrasound guidance beats standard x-ray for tricky blockages
NCT ID NCT03770650
First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study looks at 556 people with complex coronary artery blockages to see if using intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) to guide a special stenting technique (DK crush) works better than using standard angiography (X-ray). The goal is to lower the chance of heart-related death, heart attack, or needing another procedure within a year. Participants have true bifurcation lesions (blockages at artery forks) and receive drug-eluting stents.
