Summary

This trial explores whether digital tools designed for Asian American clients, along with special training for therapists, can help reduce stress, perfectionism, and symptoms of depression and anxiety. About 80 Asian American adults seeking mental health care will be involved, along with 16 therapists. The study compares outcomes for clients whose therapists use these culturally-attuned tools versus those who do not, aiming to see if this approach improves mental health and well-being.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
Culturally-attuned digital tools, including digital worksheets and podcasts, plus clinician training to use them
What this could lead to
If successful, this could provide effective digital mental health tools that address sociocultural stressors for Asian Americans, potentially improving access to culturally responsive care.
What could go wrong
This is a small early-stage study with 80 participants, so results may not generalize. The intervention depends on clinician adoption and client engagement, which may vary.
