Summary
This study tested a web app called Rose that provides hypnosis audio recordings for people with chronic pain. 100 adults with chronic low back pain or other chronic pain used the app for 8 weeks. The researchers measured how often people used it, their satisfaction, and changes in pain levels. The goal was to see if the app is user-friendly and helpful, with plans to turn it into a mobile app.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
hypnosis audio recordings via a web application (Rose)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could lead to a widely available, low-cost digital tool for managing chronic pain at home.
What could go wrong
This is a small, completed feasibility study. The app is not yet proven to reduce pain in a large population, and the investigators have a financial interest in the company developing it.
