Digital toothbrush coach aims to fix your brushing routine
NCT ID NCT07167875
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tests whether a personalized digital coaching app, used with an electric toothbrush, helps adults brush twice daily for two minutes. 230 participants from California dental clinics will use the app for 19 weeks, receiving tailored feedback and reminders. The goal is to see if this approach improves brushing habits more than standard instructions alone.

- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could show that personalized digital coaching helps people brush more consistently, leading to better oral health in community dental clinics.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage trial focused on behavior change, not a medical treatment. Results may not apply to everyone, and participants might not stick with the app long-term.
