Summary
This study aims to understand how obesity relates to heart disease risk in Black men and women, as past research shows risk factors may work differently in this population compared to others. Researchers will recruit 2000 healthy, non-diabetic Black adults to measure body fat, blood fats, and how their bodies process sugar and insulin. The goal is to gather better information to help develop future prevention programs tailored for Black communities.
