Weekly shot aims to protect the brain in diabetic dementia
NCT ID NCT07083154
Summary
This study is testing if a weekly injection called mazdutide, already used for diabetes, can help slow down memory and thinking problems in people who have both type 2 diabetes and early-stage dementia. About 420 participants will receive either the real injection or a placebo (dummy shot) for 76 weeks to see if the drug improves cognitive test scores and brain health. The main goal is to see if this treatment can modify the course of the disease, not just ease symptoms.
