Simple injection before wisdom tooth removal may ease recovery

NCT ID NCT07554963

First seen May 05, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study tests whether a single injection of dexamethasone given before removing an impacted lower wisdom tooth can lessen pain and difficulty opening the mouth afterward. 268 adults aged 18 to 55 will be randomly assigned to receive either the injection or no extra medication. Pain and mouth opening will be measured on the second and seventh days after surgery to see if the steroid helps recovery.
