Simple injection before wisdom tooth removal may ease recovery

Summary

This study tests whether a single injection of dexamethasone given before removing an impacted lower wisdom tooth can lessen pain and difficulty opening the mouth afterward. 268 adults aged 18 to 55 will be randomly assigned to receive either the steroid injection or no injection before surgery. Pain and mouth opening will be measured on the second and seventh days after the procedure.
