First seen May 11, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study tests whether the steroid dexamethasone, when added to standard care, can lower the chance of death within 90 days for adults with severe lung injury caused by sepsis. About 1,474 patients on breathing machines will receive either dexamethasone or a placebo. The goal is to see if this anti-inflammatory drug improves survival and reduces time on a ventilator.
