New eye drops show promise for rare corneal disease

Summary
This study tested an experimental eye drop called CSB-001 in 131 people with a rare eye disease called neurotrophic keratitis, which causes damage to the cornea (the clear front part of the eye). Participants used the drops four times a day for 8 weeks. The goal was to see if the drops could help heal the cornea safely. Some participants received the active drug, while others received a placebo (drops without the drug).
