Can a common moisturizer boost the power of serum tears for dry eye?
NCT ID NCT07413172
First seen Feb 20, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding sodium hyaluronate (a moisturizer found in artificial tears) to autologous serum eye drops provides better relief for people with moderate-to-severe dry eye disease. Each of the 20 participants will use the new mixture in one eye and the standard serum drops in the other, allowing a direct comparison. The goal is to see if the combination improves symptoms, comfort, and eye surface healing more than the traditional formula.
