Could a quicker, Needle-Free MRI replace the standard scan for Crohn's patients?
NCT ID NCT05354609
First seen Nov 19, 2025 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study compares a new, faster MRI technique (diffusion-weighted) to the standard MRI for monitoring Crohn's disease. The new method does not require a contrast injection or bowel cleansing, which patients often dislike. Researchers will check if the new scan is just as good at finding inflammation in the bowel. About 140 adults with Crohn's disease will have both types of MRI on the same day, and doctors will compare the results.
