NCT ID NCT07402850
First seen Feb 15, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study looked at two different breathing exercises for people with COPD, a long-term lung disease that makes it hard to breathe and causes a lot of mucus. The goal was to see which method—oscillating positive expiratory pressure (OPEP) therapy or autogenic drainage—works better to improve lung function, clear mucus, reduce shortness of breath, and improve quality of life. 58 adults with COPD were split into two groups and practiced their assigned technique for four weeks. The results will help physical therapists choose the best treatment for their patients.
