First seen Feb 15, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study looked at two methods to help people with COPD clear mucus from their lungs and breathe easier. 58 adults with COPD used either a device that creates gentle vibrations while they breathe out (OPEP therapy) or a special breathing technique called autogenic drainage for four weeks. Researchers measured lung function, mucus clearance, shortness of breath, and quality of life to see which method worked better.
