First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study tested two different ultrasound-guided nerve blocks to see which one provides better pain relief after breast removal surgery. 88 women were randomly assigned to receive either a modified pectoral nerve block (PECS II) or a midpoint transverse process to pleura (MTP) block. Researchers measured pain levels and the need for extra pain medication over the first 24 hours after surgery.
