First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study looked at whether treating surgical stitches with cold plasma can reduce pain, swelling, and mouth stiffness after wisdom tooth removal. Sixty adults had their lower wisdom teeth taken out and received either silk or PTFE stitches, some treated with plasma. Researchers measured pain, swelling, and quality of life over a week. The goal was to find a simple way to improve recovery after this common surgery.
