First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tested whether applying cold atmospheric plasma to two types of stitches (silk and PTFE) could reduce pain, swelling, and mouth-opening problems after wisdom tooth removal. Sixty adults had their lower wisdom teeth taken out and received either regular stitches or plasma-treated stitches. Researchers measured pain, swelling, and quality of life before surgery and on days 2 and 7 after surgery.
