First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026

Summary

This study tested whether treating surgical stitches with cold atmospheric plasma can reduce pain, swelling, and improve quality of life after impacted wisdom tooth removal. Sixty adults had their teeth extracted and were given either silk or PTFE stitches, with or without plasma treatment. Researchers measured pain, facial swelling, mouth opening, and quality of life over one week.
