Pee breakthrough: shorter test may ease burden for wilson disease patients

NCT ID NCT06430359

First seen Dec 10, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a shorter, more convenient urine collection (8 hours) can give the same information as the standard 24-hour collection for people with Wilson disease. Wilson disease causes copper buildup in the body, and doctors monitor treatment by measuring copper in urine. The study involves 30 patients aged 6 to 70 who are already on treatment. If successful, it could simplify monitoring and reduce the hassle of collecting urine all day.
