Could a quicker urine test replace the All-Day copper check for wilson disease?
NCT ID NCT06430359
First seen Dec 10, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a shorter, 8-hour urine collection can give the same information as the standard 24-hour collection for people with Wilson disease. Wilson disease causes copper buildup in the body, and doctors monitor treatment by measuring copper in urine. The study will involve 30 patients aged 6 to 70 who are already taking medication. The goal is to find a simpler way to track copper levels without the burden of collecting urine all day.
