New study aims to predict chronic pain in soldiers after brain injury

Summary

This study follows 100 adults who had a mild to moderate combat-related traumatic brain injury (TBI) within the last 14 days. Researchers will track their pain for 6 months to find out who develops long-term chronic pain and why. The goal is to create a tool that can predict chronic pain early, helping doctors prevent or better manage it in the future.
